Privacy & Trust

Your family's notes are private by default. Here's exactly what that means, in plain language.

Private by default

What you record is private by default. It's visible only to the people you've explicitly invited into your family — like a co-parent — never to other families or the public. A small number of service providers help us run ParentMind and may process it only to provide that service.

Who sees what

Every note carries a simple label so you always know who can see it.

Only you

Things you mark private, or record about yourself, stay visible only to you. Not your co-parent, not anyone else.

Both parents

Notes about your child are shared with the people you've invited to the family, so everyone has the same picture — never a partial one.

What ParentMind remembers

Two things are kept so answers fit your child. You decide what goes in, and you can delete it.

Your child’s profile

Allergies, health, school, what helps and what to avoid, in your own words. Both parents see a fact unless you mark it Only you. Ask and Help me now use it. Nothing you mention in Ask is saved there unless you tap Save. Edit or delete any fact anytime.

Your Ask conversations

Kept so you can pick up where you left off. Only you see them, never your co-parent. They are encrypted, and each question and answer is deleted after 90 days, or as soon as you delete it.

You're always in control

  • Export everything, anytime. Your family's full record, whenever you want it.

  • Delete your account and everything in it, whenever you choose.

  • Delete a profile fact or an Ask conversation yourself, one at a time. Forgetting a single check-in entry is coming soon.

No ads. Ever.

We never sell your family's data or share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers to run ParentMind (for example to host it, send email and process voice notes); they may use it only to provide that service. Our business is a subscription from families who find this useful — nothing else.

If you join the waitlist

Joining the waitlist — before you're a ParentMind user — collects a little information too. Here's exactly what, and why.

  • Your email address, to send a confirmation link and to let you know when it's your turn.
  • Your name, country and your child's age band, if you choose to share them — used only to plan who to invite next, never sold or shared with advertisers.
  • Kept until you leave the waitlist or join as a full account, whichever comes first.
  • Leave anytime: every confirmation email includes a link to leave the waitlist, no account needed.

Safety help is always free

Safety features are always free, on every plan, forever.

Crisis resources, country helplines and clear next steps are never something we hold back for payment.

We are not an emergency service

If your child, or anyone, is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line directly — we can't respond in real time.

Inside the app, we show a helpline for your country only after we’ve verified its number. Until one appears for your country, please use your local emergency number.

ParentMind Family, the child app

If you install ParentMind Family on your child’s phone, this part explains exactly what it does, on top of everything above.

ParentMind Family lets you set screen-time limits, block apps, and set bedtime and school-mode times on your child’s own phone. It shows your child the same rules clearly: time left, their schedule, and a way to ask you for more time, with a reason.

It is never hidden. On Android it shows a notification the whole time it runs, and your child can always see, on their own phone, what you can see about their phone use.

Children don’t have their own ParentMind account and can’t use the app parents use. The child app uses a device login made when you connect the phone.

  • For children under 18, as you tell us. Supervision ends by itself at 18.
  • Available to families in Bangladesh only for now. We check your family’s country before a phone can be connected.
  • No ads, no third-party analytics, no selling, and your child’s data never trains an AI model.

Exactly what leaves your child’s phone

Only summaries leave the phone. Raw, minute-by-minute use stays on your child’s phone for 30 days and is never sent to us.

From an Android phone

We receive

  • For each hour: minutes on screen in each app, total on-screen minutes and how often the phone was unlocked.
  • For each day: minutes used in the bedtime, school and evening times, and the first and last use, rounded to 5 minutes.
  • Each night: an estimate of phone-quiet time, worked out on the phone.
  • Counts of limits reached, blocked-app attempts, requests and extra time, and signals that protection needs a look, such as a permission turned off.
  • At 16 and 17, in Trust mode: totals per app group only, no per-app minutes.

From an iPhone

We receive

  • A range for each app group and in total, for example “between 1 and 1.5 hours”. Apple doesn’t let any app, ours included, see exact per-app minutes.
  • The first time a group was used in a time window, blocked-app attempts, requests and extra time.
  • The phone-quiet estimate, as a range.

From both

We receive

  • Your child’s mood faces, the goals they set, tasks they mark done, and the reason they pick for a request.
  • Anything your child types is checked for safety before it can reach you, and is only possible when you allow it (the fourth choice below).

What we never receive

  • Messages, screenshots, keystrokes or browsing history.
  • Contacts, the camera, the microphone or location.
  • Advertising or hardware identifiers.

Never counted, never reported

Time in the phone dialer, emergency apps, the crisis card and ParentMind Family itself is never limited, never counted and never sent. Asking for help can never look like late phone use.

What your child sees

  • “What my parent sees”: the same information you see about their phone, not a summary.
  • Every rule change, and who made it.
  • On every block screen, the rule and the reason, and a way to ask you for more time. Your answer comes back to them.
  • “My data”, where they can see what is held and delete their own mood notes and request reasons at any time.

Your child’s rights

  • Your child can see what is held about them that a parent can see, through “What my parent sees” and “My data”.
  • Your child can delete their own notes and request reasons at any time.
  • While supervision runs, your child can’t delete the records the rules produce, such as screen time. The app tells them this.
  • You can end supervision or delete your child’s data at any time, from their Controls in ParentMind.

Before a phone can be connected we ask you, the parent, four separate questions. You can change any of them at any time; turning one off turns off only what it covers.

  1. Phone controls and usage

Needed to connect a phone at all. It covers the rules and the phone use listed above.

  2. Mood and the sleep estimate

Mood faces and the phone-quiet estimate count as health information. Without this choice both are off; limits still work.

  3. Insights and suggestions

Patterns worth watching, rule suggestions and tips. Off until you turn it on. Numbers and rules work without it.

  4. Our AI provider

Totals, never messages or app names, may go to our AI provider in the United States, which also checks the short notes your child types for safety. Without this choice your child can’t type their own words: they pick ready-made reasons and faces.

Your child also sees a short explanation for their age: what the app does, what you see, what the AI does and what nobody sees. They tap “I understand”. That is their acknowledgement, not legal consent: you give consent. If a child aged 13 to 17 says no, the rules wait until they tap “I understand” or you confirm you have talked together.

When your child may need help

If something your child writes suggests they may be at risk, it is checked before it goes anywhere.

  • Low mood or stress: your child sees a short coping card and a nudge to talk to someone they trust. You see only that their mood trend changed, never their words.
  • If it looks urgent: your child sees a crisis card with emergency numbers. We tell you “your child may need you now” without quoting them, and your child is told a parent knows only if we actually reached one.
  • If the risk may come from someone at home, we tell no parent. Your child sees the same crisis card and numbers, privately.

Support, not a guarantee

Nobody watches ParentMind Family in real time, and it is not an emergency service. If your child is in danger, call 999.

Bangladesh data protection law

  • We ask for your consent as your child’s parent before collecting anything from their phone, and keep a record of it.
  • Mood and sleep information is treated as health information and needs its own consent.
  • Your child can see their own information and how a suggestion was reached.
  • We keep information only as long as the table above says, and keep a register of our processing.
  • Information leaves Bangladesh, for example to our AI provider, only with your consent or under a contract that protects it.

Questions about your child’s information

Email [email protected]. Tell us your child’s first name and your account email so we can find their records quickly.
